Munich centre From Munich centre you can reach the FRM II with the subway U6 direction Garching-Forschungszentrum. The end of line is just 50 meters from the entrance of the FRM II.The underground runs every 10 minutes during peak hours, otherwise every 20 minutes. You will find the timetable information in the right-hand column on this page.
Airport Munich: The best possibility is with the S1 to Neufahrn, and from there with bus 690 to Garching-Forschungsgelände. An alternative is the S8 to Ismaning, and from there by bus 230 direction Garching Forschungsgelände. Current connections can be found on the MVV Munich website. The transfer by taxi from the airport to FRM II takes about 15 minutes and costs about 30 Euro. Please make it clear to the taxi driver that you want to go to the research centre in Garching.
